ACCOMMODATION AIR CONDITION INLET
The 5TH edition of the International Safety Guide for Oil Tankers and Terminals (ISGOTT) recommends the fitting of combustible gas detectors in the accommodation intake for the Air Conditioning system. This is to ensure that flammable gas is not drawn into the accommodation area.
A fixed sensor is fitted within the accommodation inlet duct(s) for continuous monitoring of the atmosphere. Where gas is detected at any inlet, our system will automatically shut down the HVAC system to prevent flammable gas build up in the accommodation areas.
If a preset level of hydrocarbon %LEL is detected the system will give audible and visual alarms at the control panel and any repeater panels. In addition, some vessel owners / managers have requested toxic sensors to be installed – these can be supplied and installed at low additional cost.
